Well - it is certainly within your right to complain, and maybe they will throw you some points. Its not exactly uncommon for these events to occur - I've been at a software company event where we've taken over the pool at the Swan/Dolphin - pools close in Hawaii for annual law firm retreats, sales clubs, corporate events, etc....
