Hi all,
I’m about to book two domestic flights on Vietnam Airlines on two separate tickets/PNRs: DAD-SGN / SGN-PQC. (Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc Island)
My questions are:
- Will they checkin my baggage in DAD through to the final destination?
- If yes, would I have to re-clear the security at SGN or when arriving from a domestic flight will we disembark to the transit area (as in the US or EU)?
- in case of delay of the first flight will they rebook my second leg for free or I will need to buy a new ticket for the final destination?
- What would be the minimum connection time on such joint itinerary that you would call safe to catch the second flight? I have several options with connections as short as 70 minutes up to 2h40minutes. However I’d prefer not to spend almost 3 hours in the sgn terminal.
Both flight marketed and operated by VN, I have no elite status with ST.
