I am flying a Mexicana co-share ticketed on AA from ORD-PVR (through GDL) leaving ohare from terminal 5 at 8:30 am. A couple of questions:

What is the reccomended and minimum check-in times? Mexicana said 3 hours, but that can not be accurate.

Can I use the First-class check-in due to AA status?

How is the security at terminal 5 at that time of the day?

Any chance for an upgrade?

Will they let me have a rollerboard and a briefcase? Mexiacana said that they only allow 1 piece of cabin baggage upto 22 lbs.
