I've repeatedly been unable to check in on NH issued tickets on return flights from SE Asia to Japan. I'm not sure why since my Japanese travel companions have been able to. It could be a nationality issue but while I have a visa for Japan, that's not something the airlines need to (or ever) check since Americans can travel to Japan without a visa.
