You could be able to OLCI and receive an e-boarding pass - this depends on destination though (don't know about CCU). If so, no need to visit the transfer desk at all, just a security check as you move from arrivals to departures.

As other have noted, there's no way I'd hang around for 10 hours given the easy access to the city (even without fasttrack!).
