Can't add Marriott booking in my Bonvoy account?
Hi all,
Total noob to the hotel points collecting thing, I've always just been an airline points girl. I have Marriott Gold status, which I know isn't much but it's something.
We're staying in a local Marriott hotel this weekend for our wedding (night before and night of the wedding), and we're off on honeymoon next week, where we will also be staying in a Marriott (Marquis Queens Park in BKK).
When I log into the website I can see my local stay (which I booked through Marriott direct) but not my Bangkok stay (which I booked through an awesome promo on Luxury Escapes).
I tried to add it, but it won't stick, and I'm guessing that is because I didn't book it direct. No big deal.
My question is, is there any point in asking the exec lounge when they check us in to the BKK hotel to add my Marriott account to the booking in any way - like can I earn points on bar/restaurant/whatever purchases in the hotel? Is there anything I get with Gold status (e.g. internet, upgrade possibility) which they should be giving me on check-in, or are my Gold benefits ineligible if I don't book with Marriott direct? Or is there no point and I wouldn't earn anything/my status is invalid?
Thanks!
