I fly from BLR to DOH 4 times/year. India doesn't allow mobile BPs but I've always been able to check-in and get a paper one printed at the hotel. This then gets replaced with a cardboard one at the desk.
To get past the entrance a mobile pass is fine. I would also take a phone screenshot. The last 4 times on way to the airport I had trouble logging in to the BA app.
Good to have a reserve.
Last week on an indigo flight I couldn't download the boarding pass and I was let in to get a paper copy. I simply said. I need to get in for that. There are usually two people. One the main check and one is the boss in the chair for the secondary questions.
I've always found India full of rules but a smile and morning officer works a treat before any hassles.
