typically, a spike in bookings (tickets/day from an origin city) would trigger a review.
They dont monitor fares (since there are thousands of fares alive at any one time), but rather monitor booking rates.
The more prudent airlines monitor 24/7, others come in the morning (or after the weekend), only to realize what happened.
CX seems to do stringent monitoring, considering their infamous "Happy new year Vietnam sale" !
