Thanks for heads up, I usually fly aircanada, but got a really good deal from united this time-proably not again.
I am not sure how I can get star allaince involved, as when I contacted asiana club about the issue, I was told I have to direct my complaint to united.
interesting fact, the united manager at YYZ seemed to be unware of star alliance gold benifits and was puzzled why I got premier access.
lesson learned, I will keep you updated when I hear back from United.
