We live in the area and have eaten at all the hotels many times. For special occasions our favorite is the San Ysidro Ranch. The food is pretty good at all of the hotels but the Ranch is the most intimate and has a really wonderful feel on the terrace of The Stone House. They make you feel very taken care of. You'll have a distant ocean view in a fabulous setting. Get a Meyer Lemon Tart as one of your desserts. It's the house speciality and it's great. While you're there have a look around the property. You'll end up wanting to stay there next time.
