I just made a reservation for a Holiday Inn by the airport I have stayed at in Brussels 2ce a year for the past 3 years. Usually our travel dept. books for me, but it is actually cheaper on the Web and I saw their rate guarantee and thought OK, so its not cancellable but the rate seems OK and if I find better they will match.
Well unfortunalty while poking around an hour later I found a "Europe For Less" promotion on THEIR web site that gave a 73 Euro rate as opposed to the 139 that I just resevered on THEIR web site.
I thought OK no problem they'll let me change to the lower rate. Right?
But after a call to a very nice lady, I found out WRONG. They will not meet their own web rates, only competitor web rates.
So now I can never stay there again because this is REALLY annoying.

And I so much prefer it to the golden tulip rainbow which is the other hotel I always stay at, which is not as nice.
Anyone know if there is any way to get the lower rate? It's not my money anyway, but still it is the principal of the thing that is annoying. Why did they not just show the cheaper rate from the initial rate screen, not once you were down in some obscure web page?
