On a separate note (and I understand the buy in access policy for the lounge), is the Griffin Lounge locked after 10PM? Just looking for a place to hang out at night.
Finally, what is the alternative wifi amenity for Platinum members?
- Picked Points instead of restaurant breakfast as breakfast was covered elsewhere.
- Didn't visit or check hours on Griffin lounge.
- Didn't follow your "alternative wifi amenity" question. As a plat, was offered free higher speed internet. Didn't do a speed test to compare speeds.
- Only other comment - as a plat
I had to ask 3 different people 3 separate times I confirmed with three separate people about a late 4 pm check out before getting it. Even then, Despite that, I got a call in my room at 3 pm asking if I had another reservation for the night or if I planned to check out that day. I found that rude and told the person so. As I walked out of the hotel at 3:30 I asked the lobby folks if any of them had called my room - they all said no. So I'm guessing the back office dealing with reservations (the proverbial left hand) didn't know the front desk/lobby (right hand) had granted me a late 4 pm check out.
Besides that last point, the room was adequate. Plat upgrade was simply a room with a balcony on a high floor in a quiet wing, overlooking the pool and golf course. Looking at the floor plan, all rooms seemed the same size, so larger rooms might have been on another floor or wing from mine. Used the gym and found it more than adequate. Plenty of free weights, medicine balls, machines, pelotons etc.
Since my business meetings were at another hotel nearby, I simply used the room as a place to sleep, exercise, shower. Did not use any of the resort facilities (pools, lazy river, spa etc.) - just didn't have any time for those.
