I am new to the forum and not sure if this is the right section to post. So please excuse me if I posted in the wrong section.
I had a terrible experience with United recently, and I would like some insight as to what I can do at this point.
I had an intrernational flight with united from Toronto to Beijing, with a layover in Chicago. On thier website, it was clearly listed that for internation flights from north america to asia, anyone without *A status is allowed 2 pieces of checked luggage. I am a *G gold memeber with Asiana, so I assumed that I could check a total of 3 pieces of luggages as a part of *A gold benefits.
I was wrong. I was asked to talk to the manager for United at Toronto, who basically rolled his eyes at me and laughed that I was stupid to think I can get additional checked baggage allowance. I was shocked and of course he completely disregarded my request, and I almost missed my flight. As a result, I had to pay over 200 dollars to check my third bag.
I would really appreacite if someone could let me know whether or not I should be allowed 3 checked bags in this case, and if so how I should preceed with this.
