Haha not at all true. I don't know about other programs, but SK FFP requires you to add the three-character prefix while booking, no matter what the airline is. I've booked tickets on airline websites as well as OTAs and regular travel agents and the prefix is 100% required, and the system will simply not accept a solely numeric FFP number.
