nomod, As a Hilton Diamond member, I have not had any trouble ever with a Hilton family website-booked pre-paid stay at a H property in the US or abroad earn appropriate points (and miles whilst double-dipping,) or with receiving perks in scale with what the property normally provides.

One (other?) difference is with Hilton properties, one must be a registered guest to receive points from restaurant and similar expenses (I can't drop in to a H restaurant, buy a meal and have the expenditure post for HHonors points.)
