Quick stay report.

Stayed here for 3 nights and am staying at the full-service Marriott right now.

Check-in: welcomed to the hotel as a titanium member. Gave me the lounge sheet (which says ambassador) and went over the hotel amenities. Offered a premier 101 view room. No suites available. Appears that the hotel only has 1 suite per floor per the floor plans so maybe a total of 6 or 7. None were showing on one for sale.

Room: rooms still seemed new and have light background colors. Bathroom had separate soaking tub and shower and Toto auto toilet, but not the fancy one they have at the full service Marriott . Had two twins but they were more like doubles which took up most of the space. No work desk but a round table against a room wide day-bedding sofa. Mini bar will drinks and snacks available. Our room had Taipei 101 view. Overall, the standard rooms are small compared to the CY Nangang or the full service Marriott.

Fitness room: on the 17th floor was relatively large. Lots of machines and some free weights.

Lounge: on the 14th floor is also part of an evening bar lounge. There is also a large balcony area and should be nice during a nice day (rained cats and dogs they last few days and is still raining). Lounge staff fantastic and eager to help. Happy hour is not so good as I described in some posts above. Breakfast was better. Again, quality is not there.

MJ all day dining: on first floor for lunch was just okay. Lots of food presented but not exactly appealing. Kinda like Golden Corral or hometown buffet but presented in a nicer setting.

Location: not exactly convenient to MRT but lots of bus lines right outside the hotel if you can make it work. There is HeJiang street close with lots of local “local” eateries. Taxis are cheap in Taipei and always available when I walked outside the door waiting for hotel guests.

Service: great service overall.

From an award perspective, it’s a great property at category 3. But CY Nangang is also cat 3 and is on the blue MRT line.
