The alternative is to book with Hyatt and use the BRG to beat out a discounted rate from a OTA. You still get status benefits, night credits, and points while getting a lower rate.
Has Hyatt’s BRG improved? I tried it in the past and they were very strict on when it was the same rate and tended to deny everything I sent their way.
