Did you mean transfer document check instead of transit immigration? If I'm not wrong there shouldn't be any security or passport check ( by the border police ) when transiting N/S to N/S.
I was told by an arrival agent that I must go through immigration. It was a miniature version of the full system, but my passport and digital BP were checked and I went through security.
The irony is I arrived at A12 and the lounge I used was A11 with a departure flight out of A5.
