Thank you so much! I had the items appraised by an independent jeweler in india. They came in at about $ 1700 total.

I am not sure if this is good enough for CBP to calculate duty.

Is duty 3% for such items over the $800 exemption?

Unfortunately I do not have old photos of these articles. I do realize it would by difficult to prove that these are in fact old articles that we received as a gift versus a purchase.
