One of the FAQs on the BA website specifically refers to status renewals and that each case will be considered individually. The implication is this mainly refers to loss of tier points but I suspect this means eligible flights also. And a case being handled individually suggests discretion and flexibility of a real person handling the case. I feel you'll be fine when it all washes out.
Actually that’s basically what the supervisor also told me so at least there’s some consistency there!
