Question asked and answered looong time ago! Naples was Παρθενόπη and then Νεάπολις: Greeks! And then, of all Italian cities, which one remained under the influence (politically and otherwise) of the Greeks? Napule! There you have it. They're exactly like us, the best example for una faccia una razza! When we were "cute" little kids, my sister and I were sick and tired of hearing our mom tell us to brush our teeth, day in day out: we simply abhorred this. Solution? We rubbed a tiny bit of toothpaste onto our teeth (so that we would smell like we had brushed them)
and (important!!!) the toothbrush, in case our mother would smell it
and, finally, we sprinkled water on to our pyjamas and the sink (in case our mom would decide to check everything). This whole operation lasted almost as much as brushing the teeth, but we had scammed (YES!!!) the adult world. Now, this was the answer why the Greek economy went through a 10-year crisis
and why Napolitan cabbies do what they do (in addition of managing to get through the local traffic alive every single day: this is another story, though).
