IC Hong Kong
IC Hong Kong
It seems to be official: the hotel will not be closed for renovations in 2020. The earliest will be in 2021. This is the third time they move the date, and it seems is very skeptical that they will do a major renovation anytime in the next few years.
Also the shopping mall next to the IC is open now. I posted a description how to walk inside from the MRT station to the hotel.
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, very - as usual.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
2 stays inside one week, both time I booked 'Deluxe Harbor view' and got the xx16 junior suite (i believe they call it. They are very strict with the two level upgrade policy.
How are the rooms?
The view is spectacular. I love the xx16 room type, two huge windows at the front of the building facing the harbor with 45 degrees. That room type has the best view.
How is the exec. lounge?
Absolutely perfect. Seems that you can also have breakfast in the downstairs buffet restaurant. Usually the lounge has a subset, but at this hotel they have some higher quality items (still a smaller selection), for example berries: upstairs they had blueberries, raspberries and fresh, big juicy strawberries. Downstairs only strawberries and they looked like a few das past their shelf life.
Great selection (sweet and savory) for high tea, happy hour can replace a small dinner.
Service is personal, friendly and just perfect.
Did you receive a welcome gift?
Water, fruits, one time a golden (color, not material unfortunately) shoe bag, next time an ipad case
How was the minibar?
Great selection. Cap was 600 HK$ for a two day stay (each time)
What was good and what was bad?
-Good
- View
- Service
- everything else
-Bad
- No noodle soup in the club for breakfast
Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Not cheap, but the value is there.
Would you return?[/QUOTE]
