You must have a defined relationship in order to share or use your points for another person. If your boyfriend is your 'domestic partner' tat would fit the bill.

There are reports of Qantas auditing and closing accounts where someone has gifted or used miles for another person and their relationship is not one of those listed on the QF website.

While number_6 is correct that the selling of miles is prohibited, Qantas actually has more restrictions in that the relationship must also be specified.

That being said, your boyfriend would seem to nicely fit within the meaning of domestic partner. Just make sure you both confirm the same address
