That’s a frequent issue at many Japanese hotels which are mainly part of a Japanese chain (in this case JR Central/Associa), and taking part in a foreign program secondarily (here Marriott). Just book the room on the hotel site (
https://www.associa.com/nma/multi-lingual/?wovn=en). The rates are eligibility for elite perks and points.
