I stayed there in June and it was nothing short of fantastic! It was my first stay in a Swissotel hotel, so that might be another reason I was so impressed. But it truly is a terrific hotel. I had booked the Swiss advantage room - City view (the lowest category) and was upgraded to the same type of room but with the harbour view. Prior to arrival I had asked them to give me a room on a high floor and the very kind staff honoured my request. I think it was the 26th floor out of 30. And I have to say, it's really worth it. The view of the sea is beautiful, even more so through the floor-to-ceiling windows. You just want to sit there and contemplate the spectacular view for hours. The sunsets were particularly amazing in June with the perfect weather and long days.

The best feature for me was the bathroom (with both a bathtub and a shower), which is sooo beautiful that I wanted to spend as much time in there as possible. ) A really beautiful design!

Fantastic bar on the 30th floor! Welcome drink vouchers for 2 were valid for any drink from the drinks list (we chose cocktails) and more stunning views of the Gulf of Finland.

Breakfast was fantastic as well, with lots of choices, hot and cold. It's rather expensive but worth it, in my opinion.

The location is fantastic - just a 10 minute walk to the old town and less than 10 minutes by taxi from the airport.

The only thing I didn't like was the temperature in the swimming pool, which I personally found too warm to enjoy.

Oh yeah, and the welcome amenity was the rhubarb juice that you can see in wkndtraveler's fantastic review. I'm only Gold so I didn't get to visit the Executive lounge.

After that I went to Pullman Riga, which was a bit of a disappointment after this fantastic Swissotel.
