It's when the captain comes to the gate and starts speaking on the PA that I go "u oh..." as U haven't had any positive news from that, but then, when they offer an opportunity to ask questions, I do appreciate it.

The PAs in front of the "audience" on board have mostly been either to apologise for the delay or to explain what's going on with the delay.

I think it humanises the situation more and it's a nice touch.
