^ I'm no expert on ExpertFlyer, but my experience has been that Alaska's "bucket" of available seats often does not reflect what OneWorld or even Qantas' own availability shows. On a number of occasions I've successfully ticketed a seat using AS miles that even QF did not show as available, and often see availability on Qantas' web-site that is reflected on other OneWorld booking engines and Expert Flyer but not Alaska.
No idea how this availability is managed and released to AS, but adding your anecdotes to the pile just reinforces my assumption (which, again, as all it is). Will defer to more competent minds should they be so enlightened.
