The flight from Madrid arrives at 13:15 and the flight to Mia leaves at 14:45, leaving us a connection time of 90 minutes. I checked and at JFK coming from international to domestic flight, the MCT is 1 hour and 45 minutes. That means we are 15 minutes below that MCT.
The agent at AA confirmed me that the MCT is 1:45 mins but she also said that her system said that out connection time was ok, and she was not able to give us an alternative schedule.
Callec Iberia as suggested by AA’s agent and they had no clue what a MCT was, nor what the process for immigration was at JFK (she said I don’t have to pass through immigration, go figure...). They said the connection time needed was 45 minutes!
I’m worried we could end missing our flight to Miami, specially traveling with the baby and the 2 yo.
I wonder if AA provides travelers with some kind of “express pass” to go through immigration.
We travel J on the Mad-JFK leg and F on the JFK to Mia, so I guess we get expedited Lane for TSA at JFK.
Date is Dec. 27 so I figure that flights would be pretty crowded due to being Christmas.
I would really appreciate any advice, tips or comments about the situation and any similar experience you might have had. Thanks!
If you don’t have global entry you should use Mobile Passport ( only for US citizens). Also if you flight is delayed AA agent by the arrival gate will be passing orange express connections flyers.
