Air Belgium: Eligible flight for Tier status?
I haven't flown BA for quite a while, although I have accumulated avios and TPs on Oneworld partners. I have now booked directly on the BA website for a CAI-LHR-CAI trip, without having been aware of the Air Belgium thing. I need 2 "eligible" flights for a Tier upgrade before October - will this itinerary provide me with these eligible flights? I am guessing not because BA's definition is for a flight that is marketed (tick) and operated (no tick) by BA.
I am not particularly agitated, but I am curious: if the flights are NOT eligible, then perhaps they should be? After all, a) it is not our fault that BA's dreamliner engines are faulty, and b) the choice of Air Belgium is mandatory and there is no discretion of choice. (I am not trolling and I don't much care if I don't get the tier upgrade. After all, BA is by no means my first choice of carrier these days)
Thanks in advance for any info.
