MCO Exchange Coupon Expiration Question
I got an MCO from BA or an irregularity on Concorde (engine failure requiring return to LHR) two summers ago. They sent me an MCO as compensation. I delayed using it and so got a one-time renewal on it. The original was set to expire next week, September 1, 2004. I booked a WT+ ticket and upgraded with miles and paid for it with the MCO. I was given the ticket and an 'MCO Exchange coupon' for the residual value GBP 975. The date on the MCO is of course today but in the fine print in the big data field it shows the original MCO number and original date of reissue (Sep 1, 2003). The guy at the BA counter didn't seem sure which expiry would apply, one year from original issue of the MCO used or one year on the new 'MCO exchange coupon'
If anyone can clarify on this it would be great. I can always quickly book another trip to use the value but if I get another year I'd just as soon wait to book. Obviously, I don't want to let GBP 975 slip away unused!
thanks for your input
