They don’t cancel. Book a 1 day hotel for as cheap as possible and don’t show up. Nothing will happen. Did this on a previous flight to Cape Town.
Sorry if I am missing something. I couldn't figure out how to get Expedia to book a 1 nt hotel stay and then a flight that spans more than that.
