If you're concerned about the unrest, there's always Macao which you can access the ferries airside. Actually, 25 hours in Macao is just about right and there are many good hotels, and a few sightseeing op's-just grab a driver to show you around then drop you off at on of the casinos. My son and I did this one year and it took up most of the day and evening, though he was winning at the Sands so we stayed longer than expected.
