If NRT-JFK were an AA issued award ticket, and there was now AA award availability on JFK-BOS, then an AA agent could easily add that segment to your existing award. This would cost $150 if you're not an EXP, but the ticket would be reissued and everything would be on the same PNR.

Given that this is an AF issued award ticket, an AA agent is definitely not going to be able to do anything with it, add segments, etc., so don't even waste your time calling AA.

Personally I would forget about trying to get this on the same PNR, benefits are definitely not worth the hassle in this instance. Just book whatever JFK-BOS option works the best about ~3 hrs after your JL arrival, and you'll be fine.
