And you need to flexible on days of travel; sometimes QR only opens up certain days of the week for awards to/from the US, not other days of the week.
I'm looking for February 2020 on similar route (but starting in MLE) for the past few weeks and only Y showing. I know I should have started looking Feb 2019 but didn't know yet at that point that I was going
. We booked Emirates on the outbound and would love to experience Qsuites going home, besides for the fact that their schedule works more perfectly for me over any other airline I'm looking at.

Same originating from Africa. Usually revenue tickets are a better deal than awards.

Where can I find revenue tickets at such pricing? When I search one way DOH to JFK I get higher pricing ($3900) than round trip (at $3100).
For $2k I would book with cash and ditch being busy and the anxiety of constantly searching for award availability. Thanks for your help and advice.
