I would recommend 11D/F. Bulkhead rows are less restrictive than other seats. Otherwise any middle row seats would be fine for a couple travelling together.
In terms of SIN layover, Crowne Plaza just after immigration will be a great choice if you don't have the burning desire to visit Downtown (given there's Jewel for you to visit too).
