At most Hiltons, even "pre-paid" rates don't generally hit your credit card until check-in and then what hits you is a pre-authorization for a certain amount or amount per night. Just my experience. If you no-show, then you get hit with the charge for an amount of the rate + taxes that you "pre-paid" allegedly and may or may not get points. At SPG, you don't get points. At hilton, it varies.
What does this have to do with the original question? Hint: if the OP were interested in the credit for a no-show, he/she wouldn't be asking about elite perks.
