It depends on how the stay is "pre-paid". At most Hiltons, even "pre-paid" rates don't generally hit your credit card until check-in and then what hits you is a pre-authorization for a certain amount or amount per night. Just my experience. If you no-show, then you get hit with the charge for an amount of the rate + taxes that you "pre-paid" allegedly and may or may not get points. At SPG, you don't get points. At hilton, it varies.
