Google Maps shows 3.4km walk from T2 to the Hampton. Of course some people may not mind that; the walk is easy but not pleasant -- huge highways with a couple of long signals at which to cross them.

You could also take the Metro; it's a 10 or 15-minute walk to the Airport Free Zone station, though you'd have to transfer from/to the red line and it's a fairly long ride.

I agree that this is a very solid hotel and a good value but I don't really consider it an airport hotel, even for T2. Might as well take the red line direct in the other direction and use one of the Sheikh Zayed Road hotels -- pretty much every major chain and price point are available and it's a convenient location for a short stop-over.
