This is about 300 euro cheaper than their standard fare. AMS can be mixed with BNE, MEL, SYD and AKL (and open jawed between any of those). The long layovers in TPE can be bothersome (18 hours in some cases) but they provide a choice of free hotels... either 6 hours at the Novotel (can pay extra for additional hours), or a hotel for the full length of your stopover (6am-8pm). But that hotel is a shortish bus ride away from the airport (provided as part of the package).
