Stupid question, I have top tier status at both Hertz and National (PC and Exec Elite). I need a large SUV (third row), if I book a standard level car at both companies, can I check out both lots availability and then cancel the one I don't use? Both would be Pay Later reservations through autoslash. Sorry for the newb question but I see people referencing backup reservations...

Is there a better way to go about this booking I'm missing?
