I have an award ticket over the holidays booked with a 2 hour connection in PHX that just had its schedule changed to a 45 minute connection. I'd like to make this work if possible because it lets me leave at the civilized hour of 8 AM and get to my destination before sunset; other options either require a 6 AM departure or get to my destination way too late. But if I miss the connection at PHX it's a 12 hour wait to the next flight, or more likely a reroute through another hub, either of which would get me home very late and make me a zombie at work the next day. Also, the inbound flight is American Eagle, so there may be a wait to get my gate checked bag. Do you all think that taking this 45 minute connection is reasonable, given the long wait to the next flight, or should I ask AA for something with a more robust connection?
