I am on an automobile trip (in my own car) to various state and national parks. I developed a kidney stone (ouch!) and the clinic is telling me to stay in the area until my renal function is back to normal. I had to cancel a room reservation at a national park and lost my deposit, which I had paid with my Sapphire Reserve card. My reading of the wiki is that the loss of the deposit should be covered.

However, as soon as I am cleared, I plan to resume my trip, so only part of the trip will be cancelled (I hope). Does this affect the validity of the claim?

I needed to make a new hotel reservation in the area of the clinic. My reading of the wiki is that this is not covered, since I am not traveling by a scheduled carrier (although that is not clear). Is there any way it might be?
