One would think the manufacturer would iron out all kinks prior to installing on the customer's aircraft. This is the type of system that can be tested to within an inch of its life before being plugged into a working airplane - why subject the customer's customers to a crappy, not-quite-polished product? Are the passengers doubling as unwitting software testers?
