BREAKFAST - went to breakfast just before 9am, FOH assumed I was a delegate for Mac tools as my name was not on the list, funny thing is when booking a room with the public sector code this is with breakfast regardless of status so unsure why she got flustered but she waved us through eventually.
The breakfast here is very good, plates are hot and the hot food selection is good and piping hot, there is an egg chef too.
I started with some grapefruit segments before sampling the hot section, finishing with toast and coffee.
I usually go to the lounge for the finishing coffee but the machine is the same and it was fairly quiet in the restaurant unusually.
Hot drinks are self serve and cappuccino does not need an extra shot in my opinion as it’s fairly strong .

PARKING - parking is £12 however this is from 1pm to 1pm the next day, I arrived at noon and got charged an extra £5 for the hour up to 1pm ( it’s £5 per 4 hours between) also late checkout upto 5pm will cost £5 too....... I’m not fussed but please be aware as my bill was £17...... this is a new system with a machine by concierge and you can no longer charge parking to your room, they simply give you a code at check in for the discount.

Checked out via express checkout at 10-30am and I’m on my way

CONCLUSION - a strange stay, nothing bad at all , few negatives as food in lounge bar not good and no safe in room to which I thought was a brand standard for Hilton? ( can anyone enlighten me? )
At the end of the stay ( see what I did there ? ) I paid £56 for a twin deluxe room which was comfy and clean, the temporary lounge although somewhat strange was actually very good as regards to food, beverages and service but I still prefer the original lounge , I also had a great swim and sauna, those massage jets poolside are really good for aching muscles from the gym.......for the money I cannot complain, I would definitely return and recommend.
