Not entirely true. Avios still sees some CX space, but it is definitely the case that there is (a lot?) more space available for Asia Miles redemptions. My recent long-haul redemptions were only possible with Asia Miles (and this was for bookings 6+ months in advance).

Also, I've noticed that Avios sees some JL award space (HKG-TYO) that is not available using Asia Miles.
