Arrived at noon, didn’t bother to check in as room probably not ready yet so wandered over to resorts world for a look in the shops ( there are some great shops here! ) .
Checked in just after 3pm by a staff member who clearly didn’t want to be here , no, upgrade as all executive rooms booked ( this is true I checked on the app ) , I also done OLCI to a twin deluxe room ( this is what I booked ) along from the executive lounge as the other end can get noisy from the function room at weekends.
ROOM - it’s smallish , nothing wow , everything works except no fridge/minibar or safe , I thought a safe was part of the brand standard?, that aside it also has a tiny balcony and the air conditioning is very powerful.
BATHROOM - small, shower over bath ( my lady reports it’s very good and powerful too ) , usual toiletries but no moisturiser.
We popped to the lounge for afternoon tea, it was pretty poor with no sandwiches, just a few stale chocolate muffins, disappointing.
Went for a swim and sauna between 4 and 5pm, always good here , nice sauna, pool is huge with great massage jets poolside.
EXECUTIVE LOUNGE - I’m now here, the lounge has been moved tonight to the pavilion function room, to be honest I was quite disappointed when I heard about this at afternoon tea by lounge host, however it’s working well, lounge moved as all executive rooms booked , to be honest as much as I feel I’m sitting at a table at the wedding of somebody I don’t know the staff are very on the ball...... the drinks are not free pour , they are served but there is a great selection of food and drinks.
BEERS- Stella, San Miguel, ale , kronnenberg .
CANAPÉS- spicy chicken wings, onion bites, curry triangles, huge cheeseboard with crackers, sweet corn soup and crudités.
SPIRITS - none
WINE - red, white, rose and prosseco.
Reminds me slightly of Hilton Kensington but the food is tasty and nothing’s run out....... it just feels a bit weird in a function room but I guess it was the right call.......will report back!
