Personally I prefer the Glenfiddich 15 (the Solera not the distillers edition) to the 18.
My wife and I tried the two side by side at Gelnfiddich and both thought the 15 was more enjoyable.
TBH I enjoy the 12 the most. It's primarily bourbon barrel as opposed to the 15's very strong sherry influence, and has a slight but enjoyable bite that the 15 has smoothed over.
It's too bad they got rid of Glenfiddich 12 in Y... I always had the J bar call down for a few minis. We did a side-by-side on the A380 and a lot of people preferred the 12.
