Once you are approved, you will be issued a KTN for GE. You may use either KTN.

No passenger is ever assured Pre-Check, whether their KTN is assigned via GE or Pre-Check (and these days, unless you are selling weapons to North Korea or incorrectly enter your data, the hit rate for Pre-Check runs at 100% for most).

I would advise using the KTN associated with GE once you have it. Flipping back and forth means changing your profile constantly, it will not make you more or less likely to be selected (or more precisely, not deselected),it is prone to error, and a hassle.

Do use the opportunity with GE to make certain that your name details from your passport 100% match your name details for your air carrier profiles. Middle initials, punctuation and the like.
