Just had the same issue a couple of days ago when creating M&M account for my daughter, some trial/error to understand that PIN is just 6 digit numeric only, after that once finally PIN was accepted appeared the same message "A technical error has occurred" and few seconds later received the welcome email from M&M for my daughter...

It is just the way TK IT system works I guess...
