I just stayed here, and the renovated rooms are really nice and modern, which is great because from what I had heard from some of my colleagues, the previous rooms were extremely run down. However, with that modernization comes a lack of a desk or a full closet, just a rack to hang things. That can be good or bad depending on your preference. The bathroom was nice, with a rain shower, and a separate showerhead. The water pressure was fine; a bit weak for my liking, but it got the job done, and I've definitely had worse. There is no onsite restaurant, so the hotel offered shuttle service to nearby restaurants. I found the breakfast to be a bit disappointing. It was grab and go in the lobby, and was very, very limited, perhaps the most limited I've ever seen in any hotel. There was coffee and orange juice, and some fruit, along with prepackaged muffins and yogurt. I'm not expecting a buffet spread, but maybe a few more fruit choices (such as bananas), more than 1-2 yogurt flavors, some nutritional shakes, some fresh pastries such as bagels or croissants, and some cereal (cold or hot) would have been appreciated. The staff is also very friendly and want to make sure you have a good stay. I would return if I'm in Houston again, but hopefully that doesn't happen until after the renovations are complete, because I prefer a proper breakfast and to eat in after a long flight. It has potential.
